what is divination?
divination is the practice of receiving information from spirit. the primary forms i practice with others are tarot, astrology + drum journeying (also called ‘shamanic journeying’). other forms of divination you may be familiar with can include cowrie shells, i-ching, rune casting, etc.
divination is question-based — during our session i’ll guide you in shaping and clarifying the questions we’ll explore then we’ll take time to interpret the answers in a way that has meaning and impact for your life and strategize potential actions to be taken as follow-up.
what is astrology?
astrology is a form of divination based on the relative positioning of celestial bodies based on our viewpoint here on earth. practiced in many different ways throughout human history, the primary gift of astrology, as i hold it, is the capacity to land our personal, human experience in the larger ecological context of the seasons in a way that supports us in best aligning the expression of our gifts with the collective currents and opportunities being offered in the moment. i also consider astrology an amazing tool for self-development, with a unique language for better understanding the potential of our gifts and challenges and learning to transform our relationships to the ways we may have been shaped by internal tensions and external events. it’s also just a highly stable divinatory tool when using the chart and transits as a framework through which we can receive answers from spirit.
what is a divination session like?
readings may begin with a brief ceremonial opening and guided visualization to step into an energetic container together and call forward helping spirits to support our work. some folks love to ask a lot of specific questions and take very detailed notes, while others would rather me guide the questioning and are more interested in the experience itself, with or without notes. during the reading, i’ll channel answers to your questions, pausing occasionally to offer optional ‘drop-ins’ — guided explorations in the body’s inner landscape to work in a more embodied way with whatever arises. afterwards we’ll explore next steps you can take to integrate what came up.
divinations are meant to be an experience we co-create, so you’ll be encouraged to ask questions, give feedback, listen to your body and advocate for your boundaries and limits while we work.
